Does it work?

Do mouse repellent pouches actually work?

They work in a specific situation, and most bad reviews come from people using them outside it. They do best in closed spaces like a camper, boat, car or cabinet, put out before mice move in, with enough pouches and a fresh one every 30 days or so. They don't clear out mice that are already nesting, and they won't hold an open barn or a yard.

If you use them the way our placement guide shows and mice still get in within 30 days of delivery, we refund you.

How do they work?

Each pouch releases the scent of peppermint, cinnamon and cedarwood oil. Mice rely heavily on smell, and a closed space that's full of strong plant oil scent is one they tend to skip when there's somewhere quieter nearby. Nothing gets killed or trapped.

I put one out and found droppings right next to it. Why?

Usually one of three things. Mice were already living there before the pouch went out. The space was too big or too open for the number of pouches. Or the pouch had run out of scent. Check the "how many you need" chart, seal any gaps you can find, and if mice are already nesting, trap them out first and then use pouches to keep the space clear.

I already have mice. Will these get rid of them?

Not on their own, and we'd be lying if we said otherwise. Seal the way in, set snap traps for a week or two until fresh droppings stop, and clean up the old mess. Then put pouches out so the space doesn't get chosen again. For a big or long running problem, call pest control and use pouches as the follow up.

Will they work in my garage?

Inside the closed parts of it, yes: tool chests, cabinets, storage bins, under a covered mower. A wide open garage with the door going up and down all day is too drafty for a pouch to hold its scent. A good door seal helps more there.

Will they work on rats, squirrels, groundhogs or moles?

We sell them for mice in closed spaces. Don't buy them for squirrels, groundhogs, moles, voles or anything in a yard or garden. For rats, use traps and talk to a professional.

Using them

How long does a pouch last?

About 30 days. Heat and airflow use them up faster, so expect less in a hot engine bay or a breezy shed and more in a closed cabinet. When you can't smell it anymore, it's done.

How many do I need?

A rough guide: 2 for a car or truck, 4 for a camper, 6 for a motorhome, 3 for a boat, 3 for a kitchen and pantry, and one per cabinet or tool box in the garage. Multiply by the months you want covered, since you swap every 30 days. Not sure? See which offer fits your setup.

Where exactly should I put them?

Along walls, in corners, inside cabinets and near entry points like plumbing holes and vents. Low airflow spots are best. Stick them up with the adhesive dots rather than leaving them loose on the floor. See the full guide by space.

Can I put them in my engine bay?

On a stored car, yes, away from belts, fans and the exhaust. On a car you drive, the heat burns through them in a week or two, so the cab floor and trunk are better spots. Take any pouch out of the engine bay before you start the car.

When should I put them out?

Early fall, before the first hard freeze. That's when mice start looking for winter shelter. For storage, put fresh ones in the day you park the camper, boat or car.

Do they lose strength in the bag before I open them?

Keep unopened pouches in the closed bag, somewhere cool and dry, and they'll be ready when you need them.

Pets, kids and the smell

Are they safe for dogs and cats?

There's no poison bait in them and nothing that kills, which is why a lot of pet owners choose them. They're still concentrated essential oils, though, and a pet that chews one open could get an upset stomach. Keep them in cabinets, vehicles, storage and up high. If your pet has a sensitivity, check with your vet first.

Can I use them around kids?

Use them where kids can't reach them, the same as any essential oil or cleaning product. Inside cabinets, in vehicles, in storage. Not on a playroom floor.

How strong is the smell?

Strong for the first few days, like peppermint and cinnamon, then it settles. If you're sensitive to scents, keep them to cabinets, vehicles and storage, not bedrooms. When you can't smell it at all, it's time to swap.

Will they stain or leave oil on things?

The oil is held inside the pouch, but a fresh pouch pressed against fabric or unfinished wood for a long time could leave a mark. Stick them to a hard surface or set them on a small dish.

What's in them?

Active ingredients: peppermint oil, cinnamon oil and cedarwood oil. The full label, with exact percentages and other ingredients, is printed on every bag.

Orders, shipping and the guarantee

How does the guarantee work?

Use the pouches in a closed space the way our guide describes. If mice still get in within 30 days of delivery, email us and we'll refund your order in full. You don't have to send the pouches back. Full terms.

How long does shipping take?

Orders usually arrive in 6 to 10 business days. Shipping is free on orders over $45, and you'll get a tracking link by email.

Why can't I check out to my state?

Mouse repellents are regulated state by state, and some states require each brand to register before selling there. We only ship to states where we're cleared to sell. If yours isn't available yet, email us and we'll let you know when it is.

Is this sold on Amazon?

No. We only sell here, so every review and every order goes through us. If you see a listing using our name somewhere else, please let us know.
